Hello! Thank you for dropping by. I am a native of Portland, Oregon who has lived in New York, Chicago, and currently resides in Las Vegas. I’m passionate about travel, books, writing, and sports.
I’ve been fortunate enough to travel to 30 countries in the world, nearly every state in the United States and Puerto Rico. I’ve read hundreds of books and try to learn everything I can about a place before I visit. I study Spanish and Portuguese. If I could have dinner with three people it would be Anthony Bourdain, Ernest Hemingway, and Muhammad Ali.
My love for travel began when I went to Havana, Cuba in 2017. Even though I had been to Europe and Japan in 2008 and 2010, the transformative experience where I fell in love with exploring different places and meeting different people happened in the subtropical delirium south of the Florida Keys.
I think the only thing holding people back from traveling off the beaten path is a lack of information and awareness of the different places. Anthony Bourdain showed me a lot of the world I would not have known about without his shows. I hope one day to do the same for others.
“Travel changes you. As you move through this life and this world you change things slightly, you leave marks behind, however small. And in return, life — and travel — leaves marks on you.”
-Anthony Bourdain
